We're a club of vegans and vegetarians trying new ideas to increase participation. We've had some fun VegUps these past several months with great, fun conversation. We're starting to coordinate with other Veggie / Vegan groups. We request a $15 annual fee to defray costs.

Once a month we will meet up at Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary to help with their needs. Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary is a 400 acre non-profit refuge for farm animals and wildlife located in Poolesville, Maryland. This is a group for people who have rescued, fostering or adopted a puppymill rescue dog . These are special needs dogs who need our special attention. Each month we will have either a trainer or some type of expert helping those who help these special needs critters. There is a wonderful after life after the horrible life they have lived as breeders. We just need to help them adjust.

Since December 2011 we have met every Saturday from noon to 3pm to protest the sale of puppies from puppy mills at We Love Pets, a pet store in the shopping center at Baltimore Pike and Providence Road (Route 252). We try to educate the public about the evils of puppy mills and the pet stores that sell puppies from puppy mills. We feel that we are making great progress and many people thank us for our efforts.
